Today we’re in Albany, visiting a place that proves superb, world-class single malt whiskey can be made right here in Australia.
- The distillery is Limeburners and the man driving the distiller is Cameron Syme. Today Scott speaks with Cameron about how Limeburners all started.
- The first spirit was distilled Christmas Eve 2005 and the first whiskey distilling began the beginning of 2006. So the very first Limeburners whiskey came out April 2008 and that was a bronze medal winner in London.
- Limeburners has won gold’s in London, gold’s in San Francisco, this year they picked up “World’s Best Craft Whiskey” in the US.
- Here in Albany is their flagship site where their award winning single malt was born and the reason it tastes so good? It’s handmade, using the freshest local ingredients.
- Scott speaks with head distiller to learn what can turn a beer brew into deliciousness. This whickey is a completely wonderful, great, broad mouthful. You can taste it from the front all the way to the back.
- Limeburners have gone on this pursuit of excellence. They never think they’ve done the best, but always trying to look at how they can improve, how they can do better. So what’s next for Limeburners? The same pursuit of excellence.
