  • The land where Oakover Estate is situated produced the first wines to be exported out of Western Australia, where is was put in a large barrel and shipped off to London by Samuel Moore who planted the vines in 1814.
  • In 1929, Nicholas Yukich purchased the land and went along planting rows and rows of vines on the land
  • In 1990 Oakover opened to the public and creates 18 different wines over four different ranges.
  • Dan Charter is the head wine maker at Oakover wines, who learnt his craft in the Margaret River region of the south west of Western Australia.
  • The Nicholas range is the signature new release Shiraz, taken from the best barrels of the Vintage, spending around 12 months in barrel.
  • The Nicholas range has gone through the Malolactic fermentation process, meaning it converts the naturally occurring Malolactic acid in the wine to Lactic acid, the same acid you get in cream, corn and butter. Its rich, round and subtle and velvety soft in your mouth.
  • Oakover is a great place to relax, regardless of what wine you choose or if you just wish to discover the grounds and or enjoy a meal and watch the world go by.
  • Dan Charter and the Head Chef Bec collaborate on matching the wines and cuisine served in their restaurant, so the dining experience at Oakover is first class.
