Story Title: Horseradish

Horseradish is incredibly good for your immune system and is known for its incredible flavours.

  • Horseradish sauce tastes fantastic with beef, and is extremely easy to make.
  • Horseradish can grow anywhere – in full sun, shade or in poor quality soils.
  • The tap root is the edible part of the plant.
  • Make sure to plant your horseradish in a good, nutrient and microbe rich soil. This will help the plants deliver those nutrients directly to you.
  • To harvest, dig the plants up and cut off the tap roots, which you’ll use in the kitchen. Then cut off the foliage to find the rhizomes. These are used to make new plants – pop them into newly cultivated soil and stand back.
  • You want to prepare your soil with good organic material. Troforte M is the beneficial microbe-rich controlled release plant food that has over 60 macro and micro nutrients in it.
  • Adding Troforte M to your soil will help your plants absorb these nutrients, allowing them to grow healthy and strong, able to resist pests and disease.
  • The plants will be ready for the kitchen 6 months after planting.
  • To prepare your horseradish, cut up the tap root, add a cup of white vinegar, 2 cups of Greek Yoghurt and 3 cloves of garlic. Blend it up and pour it over your meat and vegetables.
